I am in my sixth year of teaching at Northern Bedford. I went to Clarion University for my Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education English. Since becoming a panther in 2005, I have taught grades ten through twelve which means I have taught all the different kinds of literature. My favorite is American Literature but I do love some British Literature as well. I particularly love The Crucible and anything by George Orwell. Currently, I have all the tenth grade students in either English 10 or in 10 Applied Communications. Also, I teach 12 Applied Communications. Ninth period, I help juniors study for the reading portion of the PSSA's. Mrs. Pratt and I are the advisors for the Junior Class and handle the PROM every year. I'm also co-teaching with Mrs. Gartland in two classes. She's our awesome support system and special education specialist in English.
Besides school, I'm an avid Penn State fan. Since, I grew up approximately seven miles from University Park, I have always "bled blue and white." Unfortunately, my family does not have season tickets anymore, but I still watch every game on television, and I try to get to games when I can. I live in Centre County. That means I drive about an hour and ten minutes to get to school everyday. I'm married and just celebrated my fourth anniversary. I have two beautiful children, Kennedy and Kelton and a mini-dachshund named Lydee. Of course, I love reading in my spare time (which is not often), watching Penn State football, camping, getting my hair and nails done, watching TV (my favorite show is GLEE), spending time with my close group of friends, and enjoying my family.
I grew up playing teacher in my room as a small child and continued to want to be a teacher all through my education. I am living my dream now! :). To further my dream, I hope to be as big of an inspiration as Joe Paterno!

Here you will find information for the Junior class advisor/prom, the CHAMPS program and Penn State football.
Mrs. Pratt (my co-advisor) and I will be using the Wikispace page to correspond with the Junior Class officers. The officers are expected to check the page on a daily basis and participate in the discussions.

09/01/10: We have had our first class meeting. We will vote in homeroom on Friday, September 10 to determine who our class officers will be this year. We look forward to working with these people in planning the prom and fundraising for the senior trip. :)
09/22/10: President: M. Dick, Vice President: A. Gable, Secretary: J. Diehl, and Treasurer: S. Rouser
First official meeting with officers. Advisors shared how the meetings would run. Advisors shared responsibilities with each officers. All officers were present except for VP. Officers are considering themes for the prom.
10/13/10: For our next meeting Oct 22nd, please create a list of three for each of the following topics:
Prom Theme
Prom Song
Prom/Class Color (this will follow your class as seniors)
Class flower(this will follow your class as seniors)
Class quote (this will follow your class as seniors)
Please write your responses on the wiki discussion board!

10/22/10: President: M. Dick, Vice President: A. Gable, Secretary: J. Diehl, and Treasurer: S. Rouser
Advisor - Mrs. Robinson met with officers to discuss getting approval for a new DJ. Also, the students voted to come up with three choices each for the prom theme, prom song, prom/class song, prom/class color and prom/class quote that would go on the ballot for the Junior Class to vote on. Then, students got their assignment for the next week.

Absent: Secretary: J. Diehl.
Advisors - Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Pratt met with the students in Mrs. Pratt's room. S. Rouser took
the notes for the meeting since J. Diehl was absent. Mrs. Robinson gave the officers the results for
the prom theme, colors, song, and quote. The advisors discussed the situation with the DJ and emailed Mr. Burkett about letters of recommendation. The advisors assigned the officers a task to pick out decorations and favors fitting the theme and color choices (if possible) of prom 2011.

Doverspike gave his presentation as an example on how a presentation should look. The meeting was extremely informative. Juniors then got the opportunity to pick advisors to look over their projects. The project proposal is due on January 18, 2011.
